I view human-centered design not just as an approach to creating better products and services, but as a means to building community power. My work has meandered across various scales and disciplines, which helps me understand systems at both the structural and human level. I’ve led participatory projects with public housing tenants, formerly incarcerated New Yorkers, disabled Veterans, and people with chronic illnesses.
I hold a BA in urban ethnography from Hampshire College and a Master of Architecture from Columbia University. After grad school I served as a Design Fellow through the Michigan-Mellon Project on Egalitarianism and the Metropolis before moving back to New York City and working at Sidewalk Labs, an Alphabet startup later absorbed into Google.
In 2021 I cofounded Touchdown NYC as a fellow at Blue Ridge Labs, and continue to support this mentorship platform by and for formerly incarcerated individuals.
I now live in Seattle and work as a design researcher at Coforma, partnering with federal government clients to better deliver critical services and benefits.
